- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
There are no pros working here
Cons
Working hours, being called out if refrigerator issues in the middle of the night even if you're opening the next day. Pay rate isn't great, or worth the extra work involved.

Pros
Fun team, got me through whilst still at school. Wouldn't personalllt pursue this as a career. Good if you just want something part-time.
Cons
No room for progression. Roles are standardised. What you'd expect in a basic supermarket role. Depends at you want out of it.

Forced store working for engineers
6 Mar 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Not forced to be in the office very often but still have the option to go. Happy with my pay I've heard good things about the Employee Assistance Programme
Cons
Forced store working 3 days a year at Christmas and Easter - they make it sound optional by "asking" for a "pledge" but when questioned further, they say it's mandatory. They don't consider the fact that some people have disabilities that they don't want to have to explain to their employer or can't get a diagnosis for (or even just personalities that don't mix with store working) and they chose a job that works without having to ask for adjustments - think neurodivgent or immunocompromised. I worry that they think having a good EAP is a substitute for actually fixing problems that hurt colleagues. Have colleague networks for D&I but I don't feel they apply D&I to company practices

Poor Management and Treatment of Staff
14 Mar 2023 - Petrol Station Assistant in Westhoughton, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Location, convenience, met some nice people
Cons
Poor management, staff overworked and micro-managed yet also left to pick up slack from other team members and managers that cannot successfully complete their own work. Work conditions also poor, heating always broken in the winter. Not enough trained and competent staff to cover shifts so breaks are cut short or missed completely, workload is very heavy and staff are penalised when tasks aren't up to standard even though they have been left to work with incompetent cover-staff just so the garage isn't opening illegally.

Strenuous work
20 Mar 2023 - Trading Assistant in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Manager let you get on with it, no micro managing, 45min break, working independently, good pay as because of night premium salary
Cons
Heavy lifting and packing, long unsociable hours, pressure to do a lot of food unloading in one night, quite a lonely environment if you are someone who likes to interact with people.
