Pros

They made me an offer that was more than I was making on my previous job. The pay is the ONLY reason I accepted the job and stayed for as long as I did.

Cons

They operate like a FAKE company--they do not even have a REAL Human Resources Department. They have never seemed to operate quite like other companies I have worked for over the years. I have always regretted leaving my previous job to go and work for them.

Pros

HQ is a nice place to work as a building, where everyone has an office and you don't need a photo badge to get in. It's right off Rt 66. They sometimes bring bagels or other snacks in.

Cons

They have no idea how software is developed, including what's involved, phases, or what tools developers need to get it done. They were resistant to learning the truth, too, and irritated with me "the messenger". They made stupid and major decisions (like changing the Dev Environment in the 11th hour) to something unsuitable) without consulting the lead developer, repeatedly over-riding my plans, assignments, and judgments without having any idea of work status, how things were being done, who was doing what, and the reasons for it all. It was the blind leading the guy with eyes in the back of his head. They don't create project schedules. They never get you what you need when you ask for something even what that's mission critical. Even getting an address to another location is a problem. I've never been so disrespected at a job, which was especially galling when I was the one saving the project from management-caused issues. I was once coldly lectured by my manager in front of other people (planned to be this way) when he misunderstood something and thought I needed to be "dressed down". They have employees with huge attitudes that cause a hostile work environment and they not only know this (all the way up to the CEO), but they do nothing about it. My co-workers and I often wondered how these people kept their jobs. They don't clearly define roles and responsibilities, leading to arguments about who is doing what. There isn't even an org chart. They put clueless people in charge of experts, whose decisions are overridden. The internet speed is so bad you can't download software because the network stops working. You can't use thumb drives at all there to transfer files, and you can't install the simplest thing on the computer because it's totally locked down. There's hardly anyone at HQ - less than 10 people. They never address concerns when you have one, failling to even reply to an email, call you, or stop by. This is true even when you write in that you'll be out sick - no acknowledgment at all.

Pros

Decent, hardworking people run the organization.

Cons

It's small so there is limited mobility.
