I have been working at Rogers Communications full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There is a welcoming environment within the company. My team is very tight knit, so there is a lot of collaboration and knowledge sharing within it. There are a lot opportunities for learning since it is a very large company with a lot of departments. There are opportunities to switch roles or advance within your existing role without changing companies.

    Cons

The compensation, including annual bonuses are below industry standard. The industry is very fast paced with a lot of projects and initiatives on the go, so it is very easy to get overwhelmed. Senior leadership within the company hold several town halls each year where they promise lots of changes, but very little occurs. Core IT platforms and systems are very old and outdated, so a lot of time is spent in QA and production support fixing bugs and other issues. While some groups get training there are many other groups and departments that do not have adequate training to meet their job duties.
