    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Roberts Wesleyan College full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The small community at Roberts allows for meaningful relationships between students and staff/faculty. It is easy to stay motivated to do good work when your proximity to students and their transformation takes center stage.

    Cons

Very limited resources for professional development and limited resources in serving our constituents. Hyper-optimism shades us from the reality of our situation.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Roberts Wesleyan College for more than a year

    Pros

Overall, people across campus were nice.

    Cons

People are promoted from within for jobs they are not qualified for instead of searching for qualified people in order to pay a lower salary. For a Christian college, people are gossipy and disrespectful behind each other's backs. Faculty are micromanaged by staff/admin assistants. Lack of training for managers. Managers treat subordinates poorly and unprofessionally. HR is not at all helpful and would rather sweep things under the rug than solve problems. Institutional budget needs major work.

I have been working at Roberts Wesleyan College part-time

    Pros

Roberts has a great environment. My supervisors are great. They work to see my career advance and really care about both the community and the students. Tuition benefits are a real plus.

    Cons

Roberts is a lean organization right now. Higher Education is in a difficult place across the nation, and Roberts is feeling the pinch.
