Former Employee - Catering Sales Manager in Miami, FL

    I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time

    Pros

Strong culture of excellence and loyalty.

    Cons

Salary structure is based on working 50 hours a week, 10 hours a day so you clock in and out. So they say its a salary but in reality theyre building in overtime?

I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This is a wonderful hotel. I LOVED everyone I worked with and the ladies and gentlemen became some of my very close friends. Work life balance was amazing. Free lunch in the cafeteria, pay is decently competitive. I’m grateful for learning standards of a luxury hotel. Most days, I felt appreciated and supported. This position was extremely hands on and I was able to work on a lot of exciting and thoughtful projects.

    Cons

Many individuals in management have been here a long time and are not open to new ideas. I remember feeling frustrated at the end of my time here because I took on more work and was not rewarded with a promotion or raise. I definitely saw a little bit of bullying and gossiping in the sales office that was not necessary.

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

it’s better than most of restaurant that you will work for I guess, organized, on time pay, good benefits, instable income ( up and down), enjoyed my experience.

    Cons

Management were promoting people based on how close they are to that person, best shifts ( tips position ) used to go to the people who kissed the management as### any ways it could be a lot better ....

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They took care of me when I decided to go back to school full-time. Where I worked had the people in positions of power that empowered us, and for that I am very thankful.

    Cons

Banquet cooks work hard and long hours, but you do get overtime for it. Sometimes it's a lot of work for not a lot of people, but that's the nature of the beast.
