Pros
I have to agree with the other reviews on this, RJR does very well on vision, medical, short term disability, tuition reimbursement and retirement plans. The field gets a car for around 150 a month also and a reimbursement for internet and phone
Cons
The workload has got to the status of "not worth it anymore" due to the lower pay scale at really all field levels frankly. It is very very very hard to get promoted anymore, not because of skill, but because there is only 1 path and you have to move anywhere for a very minuscule pay jump (please refer to the "not worth it anymore" comment above again.

Pros
Was a great on boarding experience and met some nice folks. The company at that time had a Manageable workload amount of brands and I also had a great DM (who has left now). Meetings were always top notch and for the most part informative, health benefits were good for my kids.
Cons
It's unfortunate to leave, but it makes sense now. The company has taken a path for the worst (and most would agree). The workload and company direction is just not feasible for TM's. This is a dead end job and be very cautious to take this job if you live in a metro area and have a life... due to low pay and limited upward movement.
Advice to Management
People don't mind working very hard, but you have to give some kind of reactionary positive incentive for the increased workload.

Pros
Company Car, Benefits, learn a lot , and company events. Great place to work dependent on Manager. Some DMs make working for the company hell. Others love their job and really want to coach their TMs to grow within the company
Cons
Management, CE requirements, very cliquish and disrespect coming from some management. Ask for transparency with TMs, but some management will mistreat TMs due to culture or backgrounds

Pros
Benefits Medical, dental, vision, life (reasonable premiums) $150/month company car, gas, insurance, maintenance included. Unlimited personal miles. Car is usually within 3 years new 6% match 401k Very generous annual bonus Sales experience (tons of growth ops) Great first sales job 100% salary based (good and bad) Paid travel and meals on overnights Trips to Vegas every 3 years Best coworkers you can ask for Many... customers are great people and fun to work with
Show MoreCons
Declining industry/constant changes Experience directly correlates to supervisor Okay work/life if single, bad if you have a family Highly political Sometimes lots of turnover, affects everyone Analytics overly complicated but favored No outside marketing in industry so you have to market everything. More and more emphasis to push product with coupons Not rewarded with really good salary until TM3, about 3 years... after hire Way too many initiatives goong at once Too much emphasis on "sales skills" training. Unnecessary at times Micromanaging (let me do my damn job!!) Leverage over customers gained from contract enforcement
Show MoreAdvice to Management
Stop making things so difficult. The job can be so much simpler without all the fluff. Learn to appreciate all employees' strengths. Hold everyone to the same standards

Pros
Plenty of support from managers and peers, Not a boring career (this is not a gig or a job, all my peers are in this for over 10 years), CEO of your own territory, wonderful organization! Good Vacation plan, Unlimited Sick/Personal, Company car, 401K (You contribute 6% they contribute 9%!), Decent health/vision/dental plan,
Cons
Starting pay can be a drawback especially depending on where the job is - this position in rural America with the salary structure works awesome, however if you are in (or near) a metro area - you'll have to do some serious budgeting at least in your first (maybe second year).
Advice to Management
Starting pay should have some adjustments in areas where the cost of living is higher than most.

Pros
The employee who recruited me always told me, "You're the CEO of your territory." It couldn't be more true. There are expectations, but the challenge is still as big as you want to make it. You guide your own growth and the sky is the limit. It's an organization full of very sharp and capable individuals and you cannot beat the culture.
Cons
It's not a job for people who need to work with a team everyday. You spend a lot of time on your own and you'll have to have a good business acumen to make good decisions by yourself.
Advice to Management
Should work more with employees to give them clearer direction and/or confidence and reinforcement that the right decisions are being made.

Benefits are good, but declining. Having a company/personal car is nice, but not enough to keep people around.

Lack of promotions. Management being disconnected with what is going on in the field.
Advice to Management
Spend more time in the field and listen to your foot soldiers.
