    Pros

    Staff travel and bonus scheme for managers is good

    Cons

    If your face doesn’t fit no point in staying. Managers are generally out for themselves. Not all but many. Shocking what they did with some staff in loyalty. Decided that they were all in the wrong grade so demoted everyone.

    Advice to Management

    Talk to your staff. Not just to the managers who will always tell you everything is fine. Take note of what surveys tell you and stop hiding all the bad stuff. It makes people angry when it’s just swept under the carpet

    I have been working at Qantas full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Meet great people/lifelong friends, staff travel, knowledge of ticketing and reservations that can assist in future job applications.

    Cons

    Rediculous expectations by management with KPIs. Lack of support, not a very good training programme layout for new employees. You get treated like a child.

    Advice to Management

    Provide a annual or six monthly employee satisfaction survey conducted by a third party so that you really know how you can help your staff. Employ more staff to answer calls as your wait times are rediculous. Instead of letting people go because they don't turn up to work at the very difficult to get to office you have in Auckland maybe look into working from home options. You will retain alot of experienced staff.

    Staff travel benefits (for Qantas and other airlines) Salary Executive leave incentives (5 extra days if 4 weeks used in financial year) Purchased leave availability for some employees (up to 4 weeks salary sacrificed) Equal opportunity employer

    In order to cut costs roles are being combined or downgraded salary wise when advertised Employees overworked

    Advice to Management

    Transformation has resulted in less jobs and people working far harder with less, but top level management have not adjusted their expectations to accomodate
