Pros
Amazing colleagues, good salary, great life lesson to appreciate people working in such jobs
Cons
Terrible management, psycological trauma. It was my first job so I was very naive and in need for money, but even that was not enough to cope with that environment. The whole management structure was closely connected so there was no one to report the terrible working conditions. We were forced to work overtime without being paid because 'it was us that were too slow and couldn't finish everything on time'. They count your productivity in 'seconds'. They contantly micromanage you, verbally harrass you and if you are trying to quit, they tell you that you'll let the whole company down (even if until that point you were called lazy and useless). I've worked in big companies since then, in demanding jobs, but I'll always have to say that this was the most difficult job I've ever done.

Pros
Understaffed, unpaid overtime, parttime contract but fulltime hours
Cons
I had days off swapped without any notice, not much training, questioned why tasks hadn’t been done despite very few staff. Short of 75% of products everyday. Had to cheat using different ingredients to keep selection. Arrogant manager. Would not recommend at all!!!

Pros
Learned a lot about city life and stress during busy times.
Cons
While I do understand that this is just coffee and sandwiches, this should also be an environment that cultivates and encourages growth as a team. Instead, I have been made to feel unwanted, unneeded, and unnecessary. There is no encouragement, there is no full trust in my upper management. It is very much like school, if you're not with the cool kids then you are a nobody and they will remind you of that in front of the team. Work really is what you make of it and if you can just go in, keep your head down and do you job then do so. But it's not for me. I moved away and was lucky to get new job opportunity.

"Managers have no clue, poor leadership of the company overall"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Pret A Manger full-time
Pros
As much coffee as you can drink to fuel up
Cons
At first, they promise you the world and when you start 'training' to see how the whole company operates. It's all about figures, all management are backstabbers only to save their skin, there is no customer service because they want you to be busy making money for the company, too much stress your shift is overcharged with duties for the salary they offer. I was overwhelmed with the information they throw at you during training and they expect you to know it all immediately.

Pros
A lot of hours .
Cons
Higher management was poor, no support system. The hours I did was 60+ because there was no support from the management. The company is very money oriented and do not care about there employees, especially the busy stores.

This company have one thing in mind and that is to make money, I know that is most companies but it is drilled into you from the moment you get in the door to the moment you leave. you are bombarded with negativity on how you perform and how the company can replace you at an instant. you dont feel like you are contributing and are constantly reminded that you are very dispensible.
