Pros

Beautiful building in a great location. The firm has a good reputation. I don't have 20 words for this category.

Cons

The atmosphere is cold and unwelcoming. Morale is down. They have no value or consideration for loyal employees that have worked there for 20 years. Those loyal employees will be fired without warning, without a hint of an issue in prior reviews, and without an opportunity to correct any shortcomings. I was very excited to be hired by this firm but not after I actually started working there.

Pros

I cannot think of any good reason to work at Phillips Lytle LLP.

Cons

They are attorneys, not managers, which means they no nothing about managing their staff. They review your performance, but they don't tell you what it is, they have their HR director do it. All they care about is billing, while their staff (paralegals and associates) do all the work.

Pros

Hmmmm... I'm required to fill in five words for Pros. That's it.

Cons

Worked here for over six years and was treated well until I wasn't. There's a lot of backstabbing, no support by personnel, long-term employees dismissed without cause, and a miserable environment. Compensation is below average and benefits are nothing special. I know a secretary who worked there for over 15 years and was offered a job at a smaller firm with better benefits and more than $10,000 annual increase in salary. The Managing Partner is self-serving and doesn't care about staff in any way. They treat staff like garbage.
