I worked at Pearson full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Not much I can think off - salary came on time, basic system and process in place, good external brand

    Cons

In-fighting within the top management team in the India business unit - unclear goals, moving targets. Very little chance of being appreciated or promoted. Avoid the company unless you are totally desperate

    Cons

Lack of women in leadership Rigid Hierarchical Management Three years and still no new platform

    Advice to Management

While employees are “empowered” with no power the expected digital transformation will continue to progress at a snails pace.

I worked at Pearson full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some of the smartest, most wonderful people with whom I've ever worked. The C-Suite was pretty male dominated, but many women at the VP- and director-levels

    Cons

Lots of talk about work/life balance, but the balance (in reality) always tipped towards work. Also lots of talk about career development, but doing so put you at risk for reprisal

    Advice to Management

While I was at Pearson, I watched the company move from having many ages, experiences, levels of seniority to being largely go getters early in their careers. Without the legacy of experience, you may move faster, but your likely to make rookie mistakes.

I worked at Pearson full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are great managers here who will go above and beyond for their employees, team, and the company

    Cons

As with a big change from print to digital, people can have high anxiety and not play nicely with each other.

    Advice to Management

Live and breathe diversity, competency-based promotions and data driven professional development if that's what is being advocated by Pearson externally

I worked at Pearson full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - huge opportunities for development and promotion if you work hard (I had 6 different role there so easy to move from role/dept to dept if you network well) - great benefits (shares, private health and care, flexible working, maternity leave, pension and the leave package is really good) - Leader in their field they know how to get things done

    Cons

    - it's definitely who you know - very strict on their performance measures - A lot over the top processes and procedures - They are really confused with their identity as they own so many different types of companies - Constant restructures and head count freezes

    Advice to Management

Watch the favouritism and cut down on the red tape.. take a little more risk
