I have been working at Pacific Sunwear part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great way to have some income while learning in school, especially full time scholars. This is part time and for people who want no more than 15-18 hrs a week. You get to work with a bunch of cool people, at the coolest clothing store! Bunch of good vibes and cali culture. You get to work with the biggest brands, like adidas, vans, tommy hilfiger and more!

    Cons

Not a lot of hours starting out. You will have to take peoples shifts regularly or otherwise prove yourself as a hard worker and team player.

I have been working at Pacific Sunwear full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Atmosphere is down to earth, upper management doesn’t belittle you, and the people you work with typically are amazing.

    Cons

The expectation to run a store by yourself is overwhelming. As a female, I had many times where I was harassed and felt unsafe while in the store by myself. Also, the pay is less than great for how much you have to deal with on a daily basis. This especially goes for having to see HQ throw elaborate parties for HQ employees in LA while field employees are barely scraping by and having to work multiple jobs to live.

    Advice to Management

Pay more and your employees may feel more valued!

I worked at Pacific Sunwear full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Casual work environment, large brand coverage keeps selling fresh, many opportunities for growth, company discounts, benefits.

    Cons

Heavy operational workload, floorsets can be hellish, pay is mediocre when promoted from within, corporate decisions can have extremely detrimental effects to one store.

    Advice to Management

Pull back on some restrictions within the tiering system on stores (some brands could pull customers into lower tier stores as a boon). When promoting within, offer the same pay you would to someone qualified out-of-company. Look into the operational side and see what could be potentially automated to give SM's more time to focus on their store and their floor instead of huge floods of paperwork.

I have been working at Pacific Sunwear full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great co workers, casual environment

    Cons

High turn over. Constant gaps in teams. Many jobs seem to be replaced by contractors who don't have any skin in the game.

    Advice to Management

Look to your internal teams with years of knowledge before outsourcing jobs.
