Leadership needs to lead by example
6 Feb 2020 - Anonymous Employee in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great product (but only 1 product), great location and benefits. Many company perks beyond the norm.
Cons
Entirely new C-level team in 12 months. Some of the new execs don't seem to have strong leadership skills, lack respect for others and don't develop and coach their teams. You can be customer obsessed but without a great team of people, you won't be able to keep the customers happy with a great product. Definitely some favoritism and looking the other way when certain tenured employees aren't pulling their weight. Large IT department is disorganized, unproductive and has been poorly managed and developed for years resulting in high turnover and frustration all around. We feel we have no leadership and don't function as a team. Over the last few years, the company culture has changed from one of collaboration and respect to many people that only seem to care about themselves. Change has to come from the top down.

Awesome Work Culture, Talented Co-Workers and Thoughtful, Experienced Leadership
12 Sept 2019 - Legal Department in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Along with a newly instituted very fair bonus structure and the best medical, dental, disability and life benefits you will find anywhere, this company has a long-standing, true commitment to charity allowing all employees a half day each quarter to work at local charities, a truly caring and encouraging HR department, and an incredible, supportive leadership team. The company culture is just as important and inclusive. There is Lunch Lotto each month where all employees are randomly selected in groups of 5 to go to lunch and the company pays for it! OT also has a dedicated Culture Committee that sets amazing events such as cook offs, quarterly Trivia and Pizza lunches, the most competitive internal miniature golf games and holiday parties, to name only a few. All-in-all, at One Tech, going to work each day and being surrounded by talented, intelligent and happy people is a joy.
Cons
I wish I had something to add here, but I don't.

I know I Help People Working Here - Great Place to Work
3 Feb 2017 - Anonymous Employee in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
One Technologies is a great place to work. I have been at OT for some time. Yes, we have great benefits such as health, dental and 401K matching and yes, the company is committed to providing great work/life balance, but just as important the company, including the owners and senior management, are committed to helping customers understand their credit with free, live and unlimited call in support (no competitor offers that), the importance of building and maintaining their credit health and preventing identity theft. And this place NEVER sells customer info unlike competitors--this company is not out to scam consumers or take their money and provide little to no value. These reasons are why I stay.
Cons
The company culture here is very important, Make sure you fit in and are comfortable with a company-wide open door policy with few to no walls separating everyone or you will not last.

Great Company To Work For!!!
20 Jul 2017 - Manager in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The innovation and commitment to technology as well as company culture is rare. They don't just talk the talk. Its a wonderful place to work and the people are the brightest I have ever worked with.
Cons
We have been undergoing a lot of change and that can affect some people more than others. Seasoned employees who have already been in 2 or 3 environments tend to be more adaptive to what growth feels like and appreciate the company more.

Pros
One Technologies is a place which offers a focused credit product(s) to consumers. It stands out in it's domain by offering a legitimate, customer focused, ethical product with an outstanding B2C commerce consumer experience. The B2B side of the business is taking off by ultimately being driven by the heavy data marketing analytics the company was founded upon. There is a real culture that has been built upon respect, respect of each other, whether or not you are a manager, executive, jr level employee or mid career. I walk around as a new employee and get acknowledgment from all levels. The atmosphere is laid back yet focused... You see teams heads down but very open to communication in passing. I've known of the company for years through contacts that work here and used to work here. The feedback from both camps before I got here was positive. Both sets of people I asked for feedback from before/while interviewing from gave me honest opinions. There is a company culture that provides lateral and vertical growth. Compensation is in line or higher than most employers, and I would lean towards the higher side of this discussion. You can actually make a difference in building a product, brand and culture here. As long as you are open to team feedback, do your work, and provide your expert feedback then you will be received well. I say expert feedback because the company seems to try and truly hire the best talent possible. The CEO appears to have setup a system or culture that sets most people up to succeed walking in the door. Most people means, hard working, top talent, or more junior level talent with a positive attitude and tangible skills which can be honed and forged into a seasoned - expert's skill set. The on-boarding experience is one of the best I've heard about and the best I've ever experienced. The company invests in educating each new employee walking in the door with feedback and actionable data from members of each team in the company. Even the legal team gives an overview of their team responsibilities, team makeup, and provides interesting facts and data... they weren't a bunch of corporate stiffs or jerks like a lot of lawyers/legal focused tradesmen. Free benefits for employees and very reasonable benefits for spouse, legal partner or families. Company relocation is also paid for individuals out of state. The PTO package is above industry standard when you add the week you get off from Christmas to New Years. A company paid trip for all employees and spouses is offered every couple of years or so. This also offers another 5 days worth of time off, but you get paid for it while you're on vacation. The company gives back to the public, while we're on the clock and getting paid. As an example - One Tech has a relationship with The Dallas Food Bank. No place of employment is perfect, no product is perfect, yet fixing our occasional errors and elevating each other seems to be a priority here.
Cons
Nothing glaring or alarming.. There needs to be a little more process put into place across the company. Although there is an impressive culture app for employees to be reviewed and give reviews on fellow employees there isn't a standard bonus program based upon some grading/scoring system. Use the tools we already have to store company based processes and procedures (non IT/technical based company processes and docs). There is some data being stored for employees, but as they say - "out of sight out of mind". With this note, provide an employee referral tool that sends updates to employees (employeereferrals.com/ is one example).

Good company, but future is uncertain
30 Jan 2015 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
great worklife balance, work with the best and brightest, CEO truly cares about company culture and people as an asset
Cons
pay is just ok. company provides benefits like free health insurance, trips to exotic destinations like Aruba and St. Kitts. However I would much rather get an annual performance review and raise.

Be AWARE of specific department before joining this company
2 Apr 2018 - Anonymous Employee in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. CEO tries hard to create a good company culture. 2. CIG - can be good. 3. There are good people here, and you will find them in your dept. 4. They will pay you good.
Cons
1. Brown Brown Brown noising A LOT. 2. They will tell you about having OPEN communication, and about a great company culture during the interview, it is the opposite of what happens when you join the company and start to work. 3. Management is just terrible (Its almost a joke, my manager relied on what he/she hears from other people and brings all those things during your reviews). He will go to other team members for your reviews, good luck to you if they are not used to your style and your way of working, you are not liked and your reviews will be based on that ( it makes a very unhealthy team dynamic, you wont feel open to putting your ideas/talent to this company because the way manager creates the team dynamic). Also, your work doesn't matter at all, if you are not brown nosing enough, be prepared to NOT be liked by your manager. Upper management have hired their friends and friends of friends, you cant go to anyone if you need to talk about specific issues that you see in your dept. It will be made clear to you by your manager how the upper management are all his friend, and he/she comes to know about everything that is said to them - again terrible management. Your skills wont be valued, and you will be managed like a child by your manager. 4. HR is a joke! 5. CIG grade - people come to know who gave them what grade, which is weird because it supposed to be anonymous. 6. Not much opportunity for growth.
