    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at NortonLifeLock full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Good benefits - Nice office (though this may close due to staff reductions) - Great canteen (which also may close) - Pretty flexible working hours depending on department/management

    Cons

    - Much of their software and processes are quite legacy, and extremely hard to change away from. - Predictable CEO turnover every 1 - 2 years which results in a complete lack of direction from the top down. - Symantecs strong core mission of 'Protect the worlds information', while hasn't changed, it's clear that the the actual focus has shifted to securing return for investors by any means necessary (acquisitions/cuts/CEO turnover/rumors to stir wallstreet etc). Protection and market leading software is no longer the priority. - Frequent reductions in force. i.e. redundancies. The risk looms over all employees meaning everyone is slightly conscious of it. Theres a huge amount of the workforce waiting for redundancies since the company was split in two. This has a toxic effect on the overall atmosphere and work ethic in the company globally. The company is also actively trying to make employees uncomfortable in order to stir natural attrition. To me, this is unethical behaviour and I wouldn't recommend this as a work environment to anyone.
