I have been working at Nelnet full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Many of the people working here are nice.

    Cons

15 an hour for advisor 1 is a joke. For modern times, this is basically minimum wage. The amount of knowledge that is thrown at you, with poor training is incredible. They tout that you can move up easy, which is true, but the pay increase from an advisor 1 to 3 is only $1.00. Employment is a revolving door when people realize that they can make just the same amount working at Target. Morale is low. Nelnet was recently informed that The department of education is not renewing their contract with Nelnet. This is surprising to no one here. I assume Nelnet will be a shell of its former self in a years time.

I have been working at Nelnet full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company does a lot for the community. Company is strongly focused on employees' health & well being. Meeting goals is rewarded for making positive changes for a healthy lifestyle. After 6 months, you can move around within the company for other opportunities. Free medical coverage premiums for the employee only option if you meet their guidelines. There are bonuses and incentives to gain additional pay on a quarterly basis.

    Cons

Pay is under the national average. Call center is monitored very closely. No free time to stop and talk to your neighbor. Every minute is scrutinized. An 8 hour day of calls one on top of the other gets exhausting.
