      Horrible employee relations and terrible customer delivery experince.

      Pros

      Not a single good experience with NowCFO as a consultant. The work was marginalized as serving restaurants, vegan, and small mom and pop Quickbooks companies. Company does not value experience and perspective doesn't count when compared to other peers within NowCFO with considerably less experience and knowledge in accounting.

      Cons

      I don't have four hours, so I'll be brief: 1. Partners automatically discount work product, paints highly degraded picture of work being provided. 2. Peers are glorified book keepers, no sense of US GAAP, best practices in accounting or common sense. You feel as if these are community college children who know how to spell Quickbooks. 3. Partner will throw staff under there the bus at a moments notice without discussion and without provocation. 4. Partner does not know how to manage clients expectations, only going for billable hours and partner will not care for input from staff or perspective. 5. The NowCFO Organization reeks of desperation and uses pricing to attain market presence. Pricing is manipulated to entice in short term, long term there is no value as the perception of the service is cheap. 6. Partners are hostile toward employees. 7. Salaries employees are treated and paid as hourly, don't bother complaining as that will only lead to retaliation.

      Thank you for taking time to leave feedback. We highly value input from all of our employees, and are constantly seeking to make improvements, especially for Consultants. Since Consultants are the face of the company, we provide training to help them balance NOW CFO administrative tasks alongside client work. Consultants are central to everything we do at NOW CFO, and our management takes the time to hold frequent calls with Consultants and clients to ensure that their work is successful. Some of our main 2021 initiatives focus around the Consultant and making sure that they feel appreciated, recognized, and valued for what they do. Though we can not guarantee that every Consultant will be an ideal fit for our fast-paced organization, we do have multiple processes in place to make the employee experience as best as it can be. We are sorry to hear that your time with us was less than ideal, but know that we are always striving to make positive changes.

      Salt Lake Office is Toxic!!

      Pros

      Consulting work generally is challenging and motivating. It's great work! The quality of work can be good, depending on which client you get. But the jobs are mostly controller-type work. Rarely if ever do they have a true CFO contract.

      Cons

      This is the most toxic work environment I have ever seen! The CEO frequently dives in to a state of uncontrolled rage. I've seen him do it several times. For this reason, he can't retain quality senior people without promoting them to start a new office in a new city (this is the reason for the growth). Co-workers all knew that networking contacts loved the CEO, but his employees at the home office hated him. As a business, sales and billings are first - regardless. Quality services and value added to the client are second. Professionalism doesn't exist within the company. Don't be fooled by the growth; it doesn't mean they are a successful organization.

      Thank you for your review! It’s true that some clients believe they need CFO support to bring financial visibility to their business when what they really need is a strong controller. The great thing about our model is that we can scale the assignment to the needs of our clients. That could mean more CFO type of work when they initially believe they need controller help, and visa versa too. As we are now in 28 markets, the type of work we do for our clients range and vary greatly from each market. We appreciate your comments and it’s true that when a company goes through growing pains the work environment can be stressful. NOW CFO is committed to the company culture and have made significant investments to the senior team that includes a new COO, President, CFO, head of HR and head of marketing to help manage growth and ensure that NOW CFO remains a great place to work.

      Churners - Talk the talk but don't walk it at all

      Decent pay. Benefits are standard.

      Cons

      Amp up how wonderful they are at initial interview. The delivery is a far cry. Will put an employee anywhere just to make a buck from what I saw. Will respond to employees questions when they see fit and as long as it benefits them personally.
