If you like being underpaid, crucified by KPIs and a stagnant career, this is the place for you.
11 Oct 2021 - Recruitment Consultant in Dublin, DublinRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you are young and looking to gain some experience in recruitment, this is a good place the start for experience only!
Cons
They talk about diversity - yet there is no evidence of diversity in the company! Career progression is a mystical opportunity that doesn't exist unless you are there 6 years + when they start making up jobs with fancy new titles for the senior people but in reality nothing changes. Its an old boys club "Managers" have zero people management skills across the company and their self serving attitude they had as a recruiter 8 years ago remains the same Despite how much you bill, they will only talk about KPIs... basically they need to justify the job middle management do so KPIs is their go to for that! Does it make logical sense? No! there is no place for logic here. They will wow you with an extravagant and expensive xmas party in a 5* hotel, instead of paying you a fair wage for your job. Salary disparity if rife! Consultants with the same experience could have differing salaries by nearly 5K with no reasoning behind it at all.

Career Progression
18 Aug 2021 - Senior Consultant in Dublin, DublinRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A Company with a strong structure around career progression, people are promoted in proven ability and not on tenure.
Cons
Culture has taken a hit with the remote working and there’s been change in personnel but nothing that won’t be reclaimed with some return to the office.

Thank you for your positive review! The pandemic imposed remote working certainly has been a challenge for many but we are committed to working on this and developing our great culture into the future. Wishing you continued success.

A lot more is needed for people working in Support Services
7 Feb 2016 - Anonymous in CorkRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I met some genuinely lovely and great people when working there. There was a very warm and welcoming atmosphere in the Support Teams. Support is a busy area and there were always good projects going on.
Cons
Salary and benefits are awful and this was beginning to create a lot of resentment in Support. You got the feeling that everyone in Support was considered "a cost" rather than an essential part of the organisation. There is no annual pay review, instead you have to make sure that your Director likes you and / or be lucky by asking at the right time - bizarre! New roles are created at random and given to certain people without explanation, leading to a lack of trust in management. Complete lack of career progression too.

Thank you for your review. Whilst I am pleased to hear your positive feedback about our people, the good projects and atmosphere, I am obviously disappointed to learn about your perspective on our approach to remuneration and progression. Everyone at Morgan McKinley should feel valued for their contribution regardless of which area of the business they work within. We introduced a transparent career pathway programme last year which outlines progression paths for all. Our approach to salaries is that we pay in line with market rate and individuals should always feel they have the opportunity to discuss this. It is through feedback that we learn and seek to improve, so we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your feedback in more detail, if you would be kind enough to get in contact with Helen Gallagher, HR Manager hgallagher@morganmckinley.i.e.

Working here 4 years now - excellent opportunities for career development & a fun place to work.
4 Jun 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Dublin, DublinRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I think Morgan McKinley provide their employees with excellent career progression opportunities. The office environment is fun & employees are rewarded well for their achievements. The company is not afraid of change or trying out new ideas/processes. Like any role it is hard work, expectations are high and you are expected to perform but you are encouraged & supported to do this.
Cons
Hours can be long & there is a bit of a culture that this is the norm. This is typical of the recruitment industry but maybe more promotion of work/life balance would be beneficial.

An ambitious Company with a big heart
13 Apr 2017 - Anonymous Employee in Dublin, DublinRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great career progression opportunities. A large global organisation with a smaller family feel. The culture in MMK is fanstastic. Authentic leaders. Great flexibility options and transformational in their approach to recruitment.
Cons
There is so much going on that you really need to be selective as to what you get involved in so you don't become overstretched.

Pros
Morgan McKinley is an excellent company to work for for people who want to develop a career in Recruitment. They have a very competitive commission structure with uncapped earning potential. The training for new and existing people is second to none and the ongoing support they give to their staff is exceptional. Career progression and developing their people is something they feel strongly about. Everyone is constantly looking out for each other and there is that great sense of community within the company.
Cons
No downsides come to mind

Professional brand, nice offices, good social activities, most managers are good at what they do.
Cons
Lack of career progression, awful benefits package, no support for staff with families, sometimes it feels like it's about who you know to get ahead
