I have been working at Mesa Air full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This company excels in helping you gain experience, especially as a recent college graduate. The benefits such as flight benefits and 401K is good too.

    Cons

This company thrives in juniority, not seniority. They will not invest in their employees for long term employment.

    Advice to Management

Start investing in your employee's time and experience.

I worked at Mesa Air full-time

    Pros

Training was fairly easy, co-workers can be friendly, and it doesn’t take a long time to gain seniority.

    Cons

Wages are lower than mainline, management isn’t always the most helpful, and you only fly within your region.

I have been working at Mesa Air full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

not overwhelming , but growing-friendly coworkers, good start to learn the meaning of "on time for others" and also the" its not about you" ..customer service is an art..learn it in small doses

    Cons

someone would kill for your job- you are replaceable

    Advice to Management

remember each person is just as important individually as each customer who is not "million mile person". that is key to good service and leaving a lasting impression on anyone watching or listening. never forget the ones who make YOUR COMPANY worth remembering the way the real people see life, live life -every penny was work--everyone wants to be acknowledged , heard, accepted and proud of where they work -passengers see it and its a core value- to be appreciated..

I have been working at Mesa Air full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The opportunity to get foot in industry and determine if it's a good fit with your expected lifestyle. Great crews, many fun overnights, seniority quickly gains. Ability to add as much "legal" flying as you can handle....I've worked up to 130 hrs in a month with no vacation hours in that mix.

    Cons

If only there was more accountability for crew members not performing, not in proper uniform (seriously how many times I hear they want to go mainline, but are looking like ratched, are they selling themselves sometimes on the side?), Getting to work on time would be awesome, often having to do my other FAs job as they are late and then they complain when they get points saying it's Management's fault. Grow up and start adulting. Low pay compared to other regionals Inconsistent discipline CEO is very removed from connecting with his people. Sad to see UA CEO more than our own. I don't think he has ever spent time in the bases....none of the executive team has, unless there is a party.

    Advice to Management

CEO and other management team in PHX, get out to the bases and spend a week getting to know your people yearly. Send more support to the local management team. They are stressed out and it shows. They need more than 1 manager in some bases like IAH, they should have at least 5. Then the issues mentioned above could be addressed, like professionalism, uniform conformity, customer service Look at bonus structure for goals met. Crews work harder when they have been bonus's available. Incentives work...
