I have been working at Merrill Lynch full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Benefits Pension Flexibility Work life balance Accessibility Willingness to change/take input Inclusiveness Culture

    Cons

Poor salary adjustment for long term associates. You really need to get another job before they will take your salary seriously.

    Advice to Management

Associates listed as top talent need to be recognised for being top talent. Salaries need to reflect the contribution of associates without the need to threaten to leave.

I have been working at Merrill Lynch for more than a year

    Pros

It pays well, that's the only thing they do well...

    Cons

Technology is awful and because if the high churn rate the codebases are a mess

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff like human beings and you might keep them

I have been working at Merrill Lynch full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits and work life balance is getting better. Massive opportunities to work on every possible tech stack available.

    Cons

Still cost cutting after years of reducing expenses. Sadly this will affect bonus and pay rise.

    Advice to Management

Keep improving, you have improved a lot over the last few years but there is still more to do.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Merrill Lynch full-time

    Pros

Large Company. Great reputation. Merrill Lynch is dynamic. Merrill Lynch has offices worldwide and are involved in many different businesses. Plenty of opportunities for career progression and promotion.

    Cons

Can sometimes be hard to switch careers within the company. Because it is a huge company, it can take a lot of time to get things passed.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to invest in your employees more and take an interest in their career and wellbeing. It will benefit the company in the end.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

    I worked at Merrill Lynch

    Pros

Pension, Holiday leave, not much else

    Cons

If you are in the wrong department there is not much room for progression. As there is no proper structure for salary increases and no bonuses for anyone below AVP everyone is chasing a title and willing to climb over your shoulder to get it. It encourages a culture of not what y0u know but who you go to lunch with.

    Advice to Management

A lot to learn. Having periodic BBQ and parties does not guarantee a happy team. Parking should be addressed and for those who must work Irish BH it would be nice if the canteen was open.
