      Pros

      - Interesting clients - Nice offices - Free Friday lunch once a month, drinks on Fridays - nice colleagues & very smart people - good training & development - good tech stack in the company

      Cons

      - forced culture, meetings after work you're expected to attend/host and sometimes mandatory earning over lunch breaks, despite already working hours of unpaid overtime - inexperienced and unprofessional management - poor pay - zero transparency about pay & promotions - including being left almost a year without a payrise in line with being promoted and not knowing how much the payrise will be - high workload for some while others get to do whatever they want in their free time and take on fun projects instead of client work - senior management freezing payrises but talking about how great the company profit was (profit partially attributed to not paying people properly, nothing to be proud of) - before lockdown, company was completely against WFH, hopefully this changes - new joiners were paid more than experienced colleagues who had their payrises frozen

      Cronyism and culture politics

Feb 12, 2021 - Art Director in Chicago, IL

      Pros

Smart people to work with. You learn a lot from your leadership.

      Cons

Main issue is that there is no real growth unless you're a woman or friends with the higher ups. The company culture seems to value cronyism over hard-working and qualifying individuals. They promote slackers and people who exhibit no real merit all because they're friendly and outgoing.
