Pros

Overview: *Great place to get recruitment experience. *Opportunities to put yourself out there and learn, if and when possible. *Exposure to working for a global organisation and clients. *Great variety of roles to work on. *Central location when in the Dublin office. *Relaxed yet somewhat formal office culture. *Colleagues are usually amazing. Overall, ManpowerGroup Ireland was an enjoyable yet taxing place to work. I was with Manpower over 3.5 years in total. I enjoyed my time there, the people I've met and the work that I got to do. It was a brilliant opportunity to come in and build on my recruitment experience and knowledge. Depending on your own goals, there are sometimes opportunities to put yourself out there and take on more work and responsibility, expanding your knowledge and experience. Due to the size of ManpowerGroup their global client base is impressive, Ireland is still growing, however, it still has some global contracts, locally. Which leads to an interesting variety of roles to work on, focusing on various industries and skill levels. Of course being in the City Centre is a bonus, commute routes, St Stephens Green, etc. The office itself, is quite relaxed, dress code is business casual, but everyone is professional. I've met some amazing people throughout my time at Manpower, sadly a lot left, but there are still others I keep in touch with.

Cons

Overview: *Adapting *Covid *Compensation *Clients and roles *Favouritism *Ideas *Leadership *Opportunities *Targets *Training and development Although Manpower was an overall good place to work for there are some downfalls to the company that have been addressed numerous times. Manpower leadership team is very slow to adapt and doesn't always welcome new ideas, methods of working, spending, recruitment technologies, people's needs, and change in general. Don't get me wrong, everyone in Manpower has new equipment (laptop, phone, headphones) but when it comes to advertising, merch, recruitment related products there are always barriers. How Manpower as a company handled Covid, could have been better. After a few months, we got a 10min ergonomics online assessment to be told something that most people already knew. If you needed equipment, you had to go into the office and get it yourself, and that's it. No compensation for bills or additional real support. Everything was very top heavy, email communication to "watch out" for Covid and to be healthy, no communication or genuine, meaningful check ins from the leadership team, not even a 2 min call, there is not that many of us. The salaries and compensation in Manpower are ok, not industry standard based on other agency salary surveys though. You don't get the same pay for same work, causing some discrepancies between teams. Different teams also get different commission structures, causing further disappointment, sole delivery gets 0%, enterprise accounts get 3% and 360 / sales get 10% - T&Cs apply. Manpower has two complex client divisions: enterprise and 360 / sales, meaning different commission structures even though recruiters work on the same roles. This discrepancy stretches all over the business leading to unfair treatment and compensation. Sometimes there is a reason for that due to dotted reporting lines, but that is hardly ever communicated properly. Without a doubt, favouritism is evident in Manpower. Certain recruiters, certain managers, and certain other employees receive very clear and evident favourable treatment, and rules are always bent when required. As mentioned above, leadership team are slow to adapt to new ideas or suggestions, they're "listened" to but not acted upon. The structure to get your idea heard is very layered and even if communicated through the correct channels, ideas are forgotten about more often than not. The overall leadership team individually are very smart, competent individuals, however collectively, looking from a recruiters perspective up, the confidence in leadership fades. There is a huge gap between recruiters, leads, management and leadership. Not just a gap in responsibilities, but gaps in communication too. The structure in Manpower is quite flat, resulting in very little opportunities for people to progress. The leadership team like to assign people (recruiters and managers) to double jobs, spreading them very thin. However, as new business is won, new roles are sometimes created but not very significant or often. Everyone will always say targets are high. In Manpower targets are quite high for the compensation or the work that goes into it. Also, some people in Manpower don't have targets at all and are working on the same repetitive tasks with no extra compensation or measure of success. Focus on training and development in Manpower is very minimal. Manpower only recently hired a new T&D representative with little to no training experience or expertise. If you're looking for educational assistance, that only gets approved if the course is directly HR or Recruitment related, nothing else.

Pros

If you're desperate for experience then yes - go to Manpower as a recruiter then get out as soon as other companies start reaching out to you.

Cons

I spent several years with Manpower in their Harcourt Street office as a consultant. Firstly, my longevity in the organisation would not have been achieved without the fantastic team members (Not Management) I had throughout my two years. Their support and positivity was outstanding! But that is where the positives stop. Manpower is nothing more than an organisation to gain professional experience in for a year, and then move on from. Their archaic methods and processes of working allow them to abuse their power and manipulate staff. You are simply a number and do not have any flexibility or autonomy as Manpower Ireland operate like they are still in the 80's. Ridiculous targets and KPI's are combined with an equally ridiculous commission structure (commission FAR LESS than industry averages). No recognition is given for your hard work unless you overachieve which is hard to do given Manpowers limited clients and poor reputation amongst companies. A stagnant Senior Management team do not care about nurturing and growing their talent, nor do they care about embracing 21st century work practices or winning new business. They simply treat the office as a school and they are the teachers. Staff are children who know nothing and they know everything - refusing to listen to anyone; this is why they have an incredibly high turnover rate of employees and very low satisfaction rates. But don't just take my word for it, look at LinkedIn profiles of staff and see how long they've been there, or better yet, reach out and ask what they truly thought of Manpower. Also, you may find colleagues simply don't show up to work anymore because they hate it that much, so might be difficult to make Amy work mates. So if you want an organisation that lacks career development, competitive renumeration and an amazingly unqualified senior management team then get on down to Manpower Harcourt Street! You won't be disappointed (Spoiler alert, you most likely will be cheated out of salary increases/commission on a regular basis and if you confront management you'll be bullied out).

Pros

Honestly an amazing company if you want to start a career in Recruitment and I believe manpower is the best recruitment agency in Dublin to work for, but you need to be a proactive person that can hit the ground running! - No KPI´s - No Micromanagement - You can be as creative as you want in terms of job ads, posts, how to engage with candidates, how you engage with clients etc. - GREAT colleagues - Lots of social events - Promoting within - Able to work on a lot of different roles - Flexibility, I was allowed to work 2 weeks at home because of an emergency - The team is performing very well and its cool to be a part of that - Health insurance, life insurance and pension - Okay Salary

Cons

- Career path seems a bit unrealistic to reach - Can be a bit chaotic sometimes (need more structure) - Agency is an Agency (You will always have some communication issues with the clients and the normal challenges that comes with working in an agency) - No direct coaching
