    Advice to Management

Some managers who think managing a project/ team means torturing them should be educated on how to treat with team members when giving developmental feedback.

I have been working at Mahindra Satyam full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. Good number of Oracle Projects comparing to its peers of similar size and strength. 2. Very flexible working hours, which actually depends on your immediate Manager. 3. Can work across various platforms with less hindrance, as long as you have right connections.

    Cons

    1. Just like any other IT organization ,nepotism rules .To get what you like , you have to beg/threaten or be a Manager's pet. 2. No huge wins right since Mahindra Group has bought this company. 3. Merging with TechMahindra will make it look more like Tech Mahindra than Satyam.

    Advice to Management

Right since last two years or say 4-6 quarters company has been posting profits and management claims that actual result has beaten market estimates, but there is no sign of Management showing some grace on their employees .Hikes are delayed for 2-3 months only to save the money and show some raise in profit. This should be avoided and management should stop playing with basics of an employee.

I have been working at Mahindra Satyam full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

After the acquisition of Mahindra, many things have been changed and good progress in company growth.

    Cons

Here is the place where once u selected for any project, then the only way to get out is - exit. Even though the 18 months job rotation policy is there, but still no one support you to get out of the project, even HR

    Advice to Management

Mandatory or ask the employees if they are happy with the current project after 18 months. If change required, pressure the PM to let them release. This should drastically reduce 60% attrition.

I have been working at Mahindra Satyam

    Pros

Opportunities to learn things. Option of switching between technologies. Repute and Recognition of the brand name.

    Cons

Compensation is pretty low and growth opportunities are less as the headcount is humongous. Functioning as an organization is not that great and middle level management is not efficient enough. Employee benefits overseas is not good enough and internal machinery is pretty bad. Appraisals take a long time to get over and normally leave a bad taste in your mouth.

    Advice to Management

More transparency on whats happening and switch gears in aggressively pursuing opportunities. Increase employee benefits and compensation overseas (atleast to the industry standard). Shuffle middle level management and get them to work more efficiently. Provide more platforms for employee grievances and also make sure they are not for just "show".
