Don't waste your time...

Pros

Quick turnover means opportunity for growth potential, may be a good option if you need visa sponsorship.

Cons

No matter how promising Mode looks in regards to it's list of "clients", or it's social media following - beware. The turnover rate at this place is absolutely ridiculous. During my six-month stint here, four employees left without any notice and one employee was fired. A poor company culture may not seem like a deal breaker, but trust me, it should be. With such a high turnover, things fall through the cracks and it's nearly impossible to do your job correctly. Fashion week is a joke. For the CEO, it's a money game, trapping client's into strict retainers so that the business stays afloat. The company is a complete disaster. Work/life balance is nonexistent.

Mismanagement & Verbal Abuse

Pros

Fun events. Fashion world experience. Good connections.

Cons

Constant verbal abuse & demoralization. Not enough staff to support quality work. Everyone overworked and stressed. Had several panic attacks during my time there. Couldn't get ahead no matter how hard I tried.

You worked at mode for almost 2 years. If we were that bad, why did you stay so long? It strikes me as odd that you would write such negative things about us, considering you gave over a month's notice and we agreed upon an exit date amicably. At the start you were very ambitious and grateful for the opportunity. You were focused on getting results at that time, then as time moved forward particularly at the end, you had a major decline. We kept you on during the pandemic and even gave you a raise and a title change. We were all nice to you, it was you who was consistently rude We encourage you to remove or change this post. It's misleading and untrue and you know it.

Don’t intern here.

Pros

My experience here was anything but positive so it’s very difficult to think of a pro.

Cons

They make you do stupid tasks and you don’t learn ANYTHING valuable. As an intern, you want to spend your time learning and gaining the best experience, that’s not the case at Mode PR. I probably would rather work at a Forever 21 than intern here. You’re basically a slave, not an intern lol. To say the least, stay away if you’re considering interning here. I suggest looking for a better place to intern where you will actually learn than waste your time and energy here.

Thank you for your review, as negative as it is, it is also valuable to hear your experience. Fashion PR is a demanding, fast paced industry with frequent juggling of priorities, changes in direction, and competing demands. It is hard work and often challenging. Some people are better in environments where they "learn on the fly" and others prefer a more structured and slower paced environment. So it may not have been the best fit for what you wanted. We guess you probably did learn more than you think, but respect that it was not the best fit for you.
