      Unfortunately there are no pros.

      I rather be homeless on the streets than work at Liberty again. Head office staff particularly HR are incredibly patronising and condescending, so don't be surprised when you find yourself under investigation for nothing whatsoever. The department store basically thinks it will be Harrods one day, but its footfall is steadily decreasing and their strategy is to belittle its retail staff into oblivion. This company demands its employees to act like inhuman robots at all times, constantly devoting their soul to the Liberty brand, let me save you some time...just avoid working here at all costs, even if its your life, because this store will bleed you dry until your shift ends! If you don't believe me, then please be my guest and find out yourself.

      Pros

      The people you engage with are wonderful, and the staff discount is a nice perk.

      Cons

      The structure is absolutely terrible. There is a complete lack of diversity within the head office, where they go to great lengths to hire the same type of people. In contrast, the shop floor, which is customer-facing, reflects diversity. On top of that, the pay is shockingly low, especially considering the amount of work expected. Oh let’s not forget about the nepotism being at an all time high! It is so evident, with opportunities often favouring certain individuals over others. You could have just entered the world, but as long as you’re related to someone high up, you’ll be a manager before you know it!

      No chance of progression or pay rise

      Good staff discount, some friendly colleagues, office location.

      Cons

      No clear path to progression. No annual salary revision. They ask you to write out an extensive appraisal, but it has nothing to do with your progression or pay. They just want to keep track of you. Low pay.
