I have been working at Kohl's full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Stacking discounts are the best. Easy to get hired even if you have a bad record.

    Cons

the management thinks that you need to work harder with less help or no help, no proper help in the department, management gives too many tries to unreliable workers, Employees are not held reliable to their constant poor work ethic, management wants you to talk to you on your unpaid break about work.

    Advice to Management

Hold employees accountable for their poor work ethic. Talk to employees so you can have an understanding instead of them hearing from somebody else. Training on how to speak to employees for management Need proper training for new employees

I worked at Kohl's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are NONE to mention unless you desire to be underpaid, overworked and underappreciated!

    Cons

PAY- $9.50 per hour is slave labor rates these days. All competition (Walmart, Target, JC Penny, etc.) pays $12.00 to start with no experience. AMAZON RETURNS- this sucks. Amazon gets to reduce its labor costs from $15.00 per hour by "using" Kohl's employees who are paid $9.50 per hour. Very nice Mr. Bezos. Thank you so much Kohl's for screwing your employees by doubling their work, not giving them ANY... INCENTIVES, and adding all the additional responsibilities which you do NOT LOGISTICALLY SUPPORT!!!! The work is complete crap, additional duties and double/triple duties abound, and all of this is completely unsupported by Kohls. DO NOT return your Amazon items to Kohl's as there is a 1 week delay with their trucks. Better yet, abuse Kohl's Amazon system by shopping online with Amazon for the same item you can get at Kohl's, return it to Kohl's, and get a 25% discount at Kohl's for the same item. KOHL's- it's all about the credit folks..that is why you are hassled endlessly by cashiers and have to stand in line so long for your purchases. It's because the only thing Kohl's cares about is signing you up for their credit card at 26%+ interest! DO NOT DO THIS! Customer service is non-existent as there are not enough employees in each store (UNDERSTAFFING IS RAMPANT) and logistically, the company does NOT support their staff. There are frequent shortages of supplies and equipment to do the job- so associates leave employment in droves, and go to better organizations with more pay and better working conditions. This is the absolute WORST job I've ever had, and I'm so glad I went to TARGET!

    Advice to Management

Your company philosophy is completely screwed. You do not pay your staff competitive wages, you subject them to sub-standard working conditions, and you understaff your stores, doubling the work of your associates. No wonder your turn-over rates are so high. Put the focus back on your staff, and your customers, and stop milking people (and paying incentives to cashiers) for opening credit accounts at 26%+... interest rates. Support your operations teams by providing them the tools and equipment they need to do the job.. and stop making excuses for bad logistics (no pallets, no hangar boxes, no trash bags, no Amazon supplies, no working in-store Kiosks, no blue birds, not enough printers, etc.)

I worked at Kohl's full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Coworkers are almost always excellent people Good job for people who want to be hired easily and kill time for a year before finding something else. Everyone should experience retail

    Cons

Awful scheduling because corporate doesn't allow stores any budget for full staffing. Management is sub-par at best. Inventory is always either overstocked or understocked; company wastes tons of resources on items that have never sold and will never sell. Sales plan that drove success has changed and this is not acknowledged by corporate, who continues to add high-ticket brand items to a store that customers... only want to find deals at.

I have been working at Kohl's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent pay, decent hours, especially around the holidays

    Cons

There’s not a lot of opportunities for advancement, and if you do move up you’ll be making significantly less than an outside hire in the same position

I have been working at Kohl's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Disocunts throughout the year are great, sick time, PTO, other benefits for full time.

    Cons

Still haven't gotten PTO after a year of full time employment, management is all over at times, push a lot on credit selling, customer base is rude and demanding.

I worked at Kohl's full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They encourage room to grow into higher positions Benefits for full time employees are decent Overall friendly company to work for

    Cons

No matter your position, the job boils down to being face to face with retail which means you'll never escape rude customers and holidays in the store.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Kohls is really a great place to work at. It will teach you patience and great customer service skills.

    Cons

The only cons I would say the pay and hours, especially if you’re working part time. But there is always shifts available that you can take
