I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

KC contributes more to benefits to lower the cost for employees. There are many work/life balance opportunities depending on Team Leader agreement such as work from home as needed or a permanent day per week. Volunteering through company employee resource groups provides leadership experience and visibility.

    Cons

Grading system does not allow career progression and sometimes grades are not equivalent to experience and skills used on the job.

    Advice to Management

Consider getting rid of the grading system or the way it binds one to being stale.

I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The colleagues Good on the job training. Ideal place for graduates (cheap labour) to start their career.. once you hit 30+ don't think about a career here if you have a good level of experience. You won't get the rewards for it long term. Join the share scheme asap if you plan to stay long term.. the leaders mostly care about their stock options so they are very much interested in pushing up the share price all... the time..

    Cons

Many years of mismanagement bringing in a culture of bullying through the senior leadership. This was an amazing company but when a new leader became in charge of EMEA around 2013/14, the culture changed. People no longer work for the company but are in it for themselves and further up the chain you go, the worse it gets, especially in Consumer.. The KCP business is slightly better as it's more of a family... business unit. Many false promises by leaders.. You get an exceptional rating (Rare).. you get put on a Grow program.. and you ask for new opportunities/payrise only to be told that there aren't any new opportunities.(after 5yrs doing same job) Then when you resign you find out that your role gets advertised at a higher grade and split into 2 roles because it was too much work for 1. KC been trying to sell the European business but have been unsuccessful in doing so and is continuing to cut cost drastically to make the P&L look more attractive to potential buyers which makes the workload unbearable for the people who stay.

    Advice to Management

Start thinking long term - leaders only care about their stock options in the short term and want to claim the credit.. long term investments are not made because simply the leadership thinks they will have moved on and won't be able to claim the credit... Also start to trust your people and go back to the culture from 6+yrs ago. Invest more time in your people.. unhappy employees will ultimately filter through to... unhappy customers..

    I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time

    Pros

Good values, great co-workers, and good career advancement opportunities. Because they are so large, they offer many opportunities for advancement. Overall they are a good company to work for and I would recommend them.

    Cons

Restructurings occur often, very bureaucratic organization who is very slow to change, and they are always trying to cut costs down to the last penny.
