I have been working at Kaiser Permanente part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Thorough on boarding process for all new hires and travelers. Lots of training and education prior to start of unit orientation. Organization takes care of their employees with great benefits, education tuition, pension, 401K and expectations are high.

    Cons

Nurses do everything and at the moment there are not a lot of training programs to cross train into another department. Worked for nearly 2 years and no cross training programs as of yet.

    Advice to Management

    Great management team.

I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most teams are relaxed, I've worked with four different teams and they all wanted me to succeed and grow as an engineer. Flexible with working from home. Benefits are great.

    Cons

Technology stack used is for the most part dated. Avoid the teams using IBM BPM. KP loves IBM products...

I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pay and insurance benefits are great. Overtime is offered a lot. If you need a job that pays well this is great. A great place for learning. The training program is great if you want to learn about the insurance or healthcare field

    Cons

Very depressing and toxic work environment. (Specifically Duluth) There is no Work/Life balance at all. Managers walk around on their cell phones all day while telling people that cell phones aren't allowed. Management doesn't care about patients or the customers they only care about whether the numbers are met. Managers harass employees and they hate working with the union. They lie about policies and withhold information purposely. Our systems never work. Even the customers call and complain and they never fix them. Not allowed to use the restroom outside of your assigned/scheduled breaks otherwise you may be written up
