    Great brand, Great leaders out in Operations, Great benefits

    Cons

    It's no longer any different to anyone else. Partners don't feel like co-owners and the priorities on leaders isn't to run it any differently. Poor leadership in head office environments

    Everyone is in the same boat as you

    Cons

    Career prospects are quite low - you won't progress unless you work in head office. I knew someone who had worked for 3 years+ with no advancement

    I have been working at John Lewis & Partners full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Good Benefits such as Odney and Brownsea Castle. Used to be good for progression and learning, now you get stuck and no where to go.

    Cons

    Poor pay, it only goes up by max 2% if your lucky, once I got 13p and hour rise! Even with 20 years experience in IT, learning and development and Management you get stuck in a store and you won't escape. They go on about better jobs for Partners, but they don't value experience or views. Bonus and profits have dived and daily you get involved in sorting customers deliverys which have gone wrong and no one takes responsibility! Jobs you apply for are earmarked for Partners already in those teams and you have no chance of breaking through. You take your time and money going to these but they are a waste of time. Silver medalist pot is pointless as when you pass the benchmark no one calls you or invites you for a chat about the job! What's the point! They no longer care about Partners and waiting for feedback for interviews is a nightmare... Sometimes you wait 14 days for an answer on your application, very down heartening . I loved this business so much however it is now full of disappointment and regret. Everyone will realise in the end that there is no progression, opportunities or real tangible learning. Visits from Head office Partners, make you feel inferior and dismiss any ideas of improvement... They have to prove every project will work regardless of the results or partner experience. Work life balance is zero as a manager and you get emails and messages on your day off

    The people on ground level who make it bearable

    Cons

    corrupt management. Poor working conditions, profits on the slide hence making even more partners redundant, replacing them with partners who don't have a clue about the customers. Online bullying from management and head office sweep this under the carpet.
