I have been working at Imageworks full-time

    Pros

Sony is a great place due to their animation and VFX work. Longevity and personal growth.

    Cons

As the industry is spiraling downwards with shorter contracts and tighter deadlines and less money, Sony is forced to follow along

I worked at Imageworks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay wasn't great for a junior, but it's great to be at a good studio surrounded by many talented people. You can learn a lot. They expect efficiency and high quality.

    Cons

Too many people, less easier to make connection. You can stay on your grind, but it's always cool to share more knowledge.

I have been working at Imageworks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

-extremely well-established pipeline -fantastic support for production personnel in terms of tools, mentorship and guidance, infrastructure, technology etc -plenty of long-term projects -a lot of opportunity for advancement in production -brand new facilities in probably one of the best locations downtown

    Cons

-depending on the project, hours can be long (on average 10 - 12 hour days, saturdays, maybe even sundays depending on the department and overall show trajectory) -generally linear pipeline means you don't run into a lot of particular issues that might help you grow or learn more -can be difficult to meet friends or people in general with company culture -pay for production isn't amazing and/or transparent, especially in one of the most expensive economies in the world.
