I worked at IKEA for more than 5 years

    Pros

Can really suit College students, People with Young children or any one who just wants a part time job to bring home extra cash

    Cons

No training, no chance of progression for hard workers, a lot of inside politics, little career development or goals to strive for, salary is extremely poor.

I have been working at IKEA part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

IKEA is a great part-time retail job for me. There are great benefits even for part-time workers, and they treated their employees very well throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

    Cons

I don't think working in retail is for me long-term (however I think IKEA must be one of the best retail employers out there).

I worked at IKEA part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I loved working at IKEA, great benefits even for part time employees, and the pay was decent. overall the company has great intentions for both employees and customers alike. A very generous company as a whole. They would often give free gift cards or free items and bonuses for holidays/ special occasions.

    Cons

Location had a few problems areas. TONS of internal systems issues for things that you’ll need to do you job. Ex. Constantly having to switch to a different cash lane because a belt stopped working mid shift or at the end of the night many of the money counters would jam so they would ask you to count by hand. management doesn’t care much about employees. Certain individuals were favored. Promoting the wrong individuals to higher positions. New practices of systems within the department were slowly being rolled in during my year here, Clear divide in the people whom was hired before and after as the older employees weren’t asked to conform to the new changes. (Food, cashier, and returns department were all under the job title customer service when I was hired where as the older employee may have just been for a cashier so was not asked to do the other two causing many shortages in staff. Any and all communication was done on paper, requests off and such constantly would get misplaced or overlooked.

I have been working at IKEA full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very good benefits even if you work part time. The coworkers are very friendly

    Cons

Management really needs to listen to coworkers more and stop separating yourself from the people who work for you. I know this may only be an issue in my personal store but turnover has been insane since the company botched their coronavirus plans and keeping good people should be the number one priority, constantly changing priorities and not communicating new expectations gets very annoying.

I worked at IKEA part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Get to work with many great people, there’s opportunities for growth and the ability to contribute to other parts of the store. The benefits are also great for part time workers!

    Cons

Can’t think of any cons, I miss working here!

I worked at IKEA part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent benefits for part-time employees, employee discount, flexible schedule (Somewhat), and PTO for part-time employees as well.

    Cons

Well, IKEA needs to hire more staff and put more resources into the food department (Bistro). That way, customers and employees will be happier.
