I worked at Harvey Nash Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Don’t have to make sales calls. Step towards in-house if that’s of interest.

    Cons

No career progression, no learning, no work life balance, low commission, low basic, the office is in a basement and they are not very clear about whats expected. The managers have favorites and certain people are allowed to come in late and not hit targets and others are not which isn’t fair.

    Advice to Management

Take more of an interest and treat people equally

I worked at Harvey Nash Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Definitely one of the best companies I have worked for in my career with a strong brand in the Irish market. They recently moved into new offices which are amazing. Great management team in place who are open to change and the door is always open if you want to have a chat. There is a clear patch to progression within the company and you just need to follow the steps and do your job to get promoted. They have a huge client base with lots of exclusive work so there's not a huge focus on BD which gives you more time to recruit and earn commission. Really good yearly incentives such as trips to Tenerife, Vegas etc for people over target. Good training done by the directors and always willing to help if you are unsure about something I would definitely work for Harvey Nash again in the future which says it all really

    Cons

Salaries can be a bit low compared to competitors and not much benefits

    Advice to Management

I worked at Harvey Nash Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The name holds a lot of value in the company, and a number of client relationships are very solid

    Cons

The management are the office downfall, lack of structure and severe lack of training.

    Advice to Management

If you are taking in grads, train them well. Give them time to show their worth.

I worked at Harvey Nash Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Supportive people -Unlimited commission opportunity -Dynamic - if you spot an opportunity and make a business case they will support it if it's strong and makes sense for the business -Training opportunities -It's a great starting ground to gain experience in sales, account management and consultancy -Excellent incentives such as free team ski trips and individual trips if you overachieve

    Cons

You probably reach a certain level and there is no further progression - but if you want to sell and earn commission and this is what fulfills your expectations there really are no limits. You need to be flexible and dedicated, there are long hours but once you manage your time well and figure out what works for you it's great. If you enjoy working with good people these cons are quickly over looked.

I have been working at Harvey Nash Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Harvey Nash works closely with some big tech companies, that's cool. Maybe you can have a cool opportunity somewhere.

    Cons

Being unfamiliar with the outsourcing reality not all the contract details (benefits, contract renewal, etc) were made clear for me at the very beginning.

    Advice to Management

Being unfamiliar with the outsourcing reality not all the contract details (benefits, contract renewal, etc) were made clear for me at the very beginning. You should work on that, lay everything down to the employee so he/she doesn't feel frustrated when he gets to the company he/she will be working at.

I have been working at Harvey Nash Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Friendly colleagues, excellent flexible working practices, great IT support, global opportunities, meritocracy

    Cons

meritocracy skewed in favour of men, especially those that are highly competitive, collaborative working is not supported by process, company direction and plans shared with those 'in the club' but not widely if you don't attend the key meetings. Values and actions do not always align (e.g. value staff but L&D / Talent team axed).

    Advice to Management

Fully embrace your values and make sure your processes support those values. Listen to employees when they give feedback on the processes that are misaligned and do something visibly.
