I have been working at GlobalSign full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people make GlobalSign a great place to work at, I’ve learned so much and had great support and kindness from people all around the world working here in a truly global company.
    PM leadership team Rocks!
Further, and perhaps most importantly, the vision of the company working on innovative cloud PKI products is very exciting.

    Cons

Hardly anything objectionable, normal growing and shifting minor pains.

    Advice to Management

Keep on focusing on the vision and mission of the company, and keep up the investment in your strategic initiatives which I believe will continue to give GlobalSign a competitive edge in the trusted ID / PKI market for the next 5 years.

I worked at GlobalSign full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-The cafeteria inside the building serves free snacks and beverages any time of the day
-Flexibility in regards of working hours (but only because probably nobody cares...)

    Cons

-Childish project and process management with little or no professional preparation and experience. Every decision is taken behind closed doors with no consideration of long term consequences
-Systematic stigmatization of team member not aligned with the rest of "yes men" in the company
-No understanding of software engineering process. In spite of pretending to be a leading force in the development of Security-Oriented web services, the local (and offshore) development teams are forced to struggle with so -said managers changing their business vision every day, changing specifications and time-schedules on the run, and using second-hand (sometimes even third or forth-hand) hardware to do their daily job.
-Developers are forced to use their own equipment and in some cases even their own software licenses to work on their daily assignments. Any request for additional budget is systematically rejected, unless the person asking for more budget is a personal friend or exchange favors with the manager in charge of managing the budget.
-No recognition for hard work, no incentives, no bonuses, individuals abandoned to themselves for the organization of their own work
-Salaries seems to be assigned with a random number generator, without any real assessment of the workers' market value, skills or years of experience. Sometime Junior figures get ridiculously high salaries in comparison to Senior, sometimes the other way around.

    Advice to Management

-The best advice I can give to (a good part not all of) the management personnel is: change your job. That thing is really not for you, seriously.

I worked at GlobalSign full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Offers work from home when needed, management trusts employees to get the job done, no micro-managing. They offer a relaxed dress code and great benefits/time-off package, ample sick time if you have kids. Good people to work with.

    Cons

Management can become disengaged from the staff when they are under a lot of pressure.

The Japan headquarters personnel that interact with the U.S. office staff have much to learn about U.S. workplace culture and reasonable expectations of staff.

    Advice to Management

Check in with your direct reports. Don't assume everything is okay. Be proactive in asking them questions. Especially if they've undergone a recent change with their role responsibilities, have been assigned to a new manager or have had recent life events outside of the workplace.
