I worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The company has potential - globally the culture is more promising....Beautiful facility; RH portfolio is top notch; great talent overall; access to solid training and development resources - more than in competitor companies

    Cons

senior management not strategic and doesn't walk the talk and is NOT VISIBLE; middle management uncoachable and arrogant, leading key talent to exit organization; wasteful practices such as excessive sales awards trips continuing during years when organization's sales numbers missed by a mile - and laying off employees at the same time....very poor taste and messaging

I worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals full-time

    Pros

Salary is on par with other mid to large size pharmaceutical companies.

    Cons

No loyalty to employee, although Ferring claims “People come first at Ferring” is its Philosophy. The senior management in Europe consistently change the directions. The product platform is old, and the drug development in the R&D center in Europe is very slow, compared with other pharmaceutical companies. Lots of money was wasted at R&D without moving new product forward. The US employees were laid off while contributing 1/3 of the global revenue and majority of the profit.

I worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals for more than a year

    Pros

Some very talented and driven people in the organisation. Great office facilities, canteen & team building activities.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, politics & pettiness is rife at all levels. Senior management are largely incompetent. As the firm is unlisted, a lot of decisions are made at the whim of the CEO, or to facilitate the agenda of one of the senior management team. People are not valued, especially at lower levels. A constantly shifting body of >30 interns are hired with no intention of ever hiring them. Though all are enticed by being told that their might be a full time job at the end of the internship. It is lies. The HR team are truly tyrannical. Their attitude towards staff is hostile, argumentative and very condescending.

    I worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals

    Pros

There are some great people here that really care, that treat their coworkers with kindness and respect. Good vacation and decent medical (was better before they switched provider ). Occasional little incentives, like visa gift cards, which aren't much but they are nice when you get them

    Cons

If you are an ambitious, motivated person that wants to work hard, be part of a team, feel appreciated for your efforts and develop your career, I would seriously reconsider your options. People don't come first, the convenience of senior management does. The negative energy is palpable. Leadership is non existent. It's only a matter of time before turnover begins to skyrocket. This isn't a secret, but no one seems to care. HR treats employees like children that can't be trusted
