I worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's still a fun place to work. Adding new products and moving through the growing pains

    Cons

OMG. Why does senior management not understand why people leave the HO?

    Advice to Management

Have someone in Sr. management do a few exit interviews instead of just HR going through the motions to check a box on the check-out list. The person who's causing the defections will become obvious.

I have been working at Ferring Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great people, products and pipeline.

    Cons

Awful US senior management and excessive nepotism. Global leadership has very little trust in the US affiliate. Under appreciated & overworked employees.

    Advice to Management

Provide all managers with necessary training how to effectively manage people. Managers of people seriously lack necessary communication and conflict-resolution skills. Adhere to company’s golden philosophy: people first!

    Pros

Some very good colleagues to work with and the food is amazing. Some good initiatives unfortunately not been able to go through.

    Cons

Senior Management Salary Mediocre pipeline No one will go the extra mile Very demotivating company to work for Lots of politics

    Advice to Management

Change the motto and change your Sr Management. They have been destroyed the company in the last years. Too much focus in the new building.

I worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals for more than a year

    Pros

Some very talented and driven people in the organisation. Great office facilities, canteen & team building activities.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, politics & pettiness is rife at all levels. Senior management are largely incompetent. As the firm is unlisted, a lot of decisions are made at the whim of the CEO, or to facilitate the agenda of one of the senior management team. People are not valued, especially at lower levels. A constantly shifting body of >30 interns are hired with no intention of ever hiring them. Though all are enticed by being told that their might be a full time job at the end of the internship. It is lies. The HR team are truly tyrannical. Their attitude towards staff is hostile, argumentative and very condescending.

    Advice to Management

Get aligned on a common goal and stop chasing your own fancies (this includes the CEO), value the people you have working for you more and do what your mission states and put the people first. Your profits will take care of themselves.

    I worked at Ferring Pharmaceuticals

    Pros

There are some great people here that really care, that treat their coworkers with kindness and respect. Good vacation and decent medical (was better before they switched provider ). Occasional little incentives, like visa gift cards, which aren't much but they are nice when you get them

    Cons

If you are an ambitious, motivated person that wants to work hard, be part of a team, feel appreciated for your efforts and develop your career, I would seriously reconsider your options. People don't come first, the convenience of senior management does. The negative energy is palpable. Leadership is non existent. It's only a matter of time before turnover begins to skyrocket. This isn't a secret, but no one seems to care. HR treats employees like children that can't be trusted

    Advice to Management

address the toxic energy bad managers are creating. You must be aware of it. Try listening to what people tell you during their exit interviews. And for the few bad employees you have, consider whether the measures you take are really worth demoralizing all the good ones. Because most of the people here are actually good

If I think of some I will let you know! You have some autonomy out in the field. The expectations to sell the product are unrealistic.

    Cons

Managers and senior management will always lie to you.

    Advice to Management

leave immediately.. Let the European boss continue to get rid of you all..well maybe 75% of you. There are a few of you who can stay.
