I worked at FedEx Ground full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Little to no supervision on route You determine how quickly your route gets done. Not stuck in a building or one place for 8 to 10 hrs a day. Able to meet a diverse group of people Learn more about the city and general area knowledge. Can stay in shape from physical fast paced work load No watching the clock makes days fly by.

    Cons

Pay doesn't match work load and physical demands. Unreal expectations more than not. No benefits No work home life balance No paid overtime, holidays, or sick time off. Very hard to get any time off No set hours, your not done until the last package is delivered. (I have worked until 11pm especially during peak season) You will never be able to experience a good Christmas with your family. Expected to work 6 days a week. Contractors do not care about their driver's or their Managers.

    Advice to Management

Remember that without GOOD DRIVERS, you are absolutely nothing! Your company is only as good as your weakest driver. Take care of the ones who take care of you.

I have been working at FedEx Ground full-time for more than a year

    Pros

On your own through the day. Depending upon route beautiful country side or town and business. Great workout throughout day.

    Cons

Poor truck conditions, a lot of contractors don't know how to manage and loose good people. Pay usually doesn't correlate with work, no benefits. Can be a great job for people. Hard in winter months due to icy driveways and poor plowing by residences, makes it hard to get the truck where it needs to go, customers get angry.

    Advice to Management

Figure out something so contractors can pay their drivers well and keep up with the maintenance on their vehicles so they are safe and don't cause worker injuries.

I worked at FedEx Ground full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent pay, usually not too bad of hours. Once you leave the terminal you're out on your own for the rest of the day. My direct bosses (contractors) were some of the best people I've ever worked for.

    Cons

No benefits, overtime is cheaply done and based on $1/stop after you've completed so many stops for the day. So some OT hours end up paying less than your salary hours.

    Advice to Management

Make FedEx Ground contractors and subcontractors actual employees. Hope they get sued eventually for some or their policies.

I have been working at FedEx Ground

    Pros

Well, it’s a job that’s all i can say and a job that has alot of hard labor and doesn’t want to pay up.

    Cons

We’re contractors, and don’t work for amazon that’s the bad part, so no benefits!

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better, because i came from another one of your competitors hoping I’ll get paid more but it’s the same no difference. I’m doing more hard labor than i were at my last job! Pay your employees, and give out benefits or you’ll run them all away.

I worked at FedEx Ground for more than 3 years

    Pros

You are paid weekly on Fridays.

    Cons

Where to begin... Your employed by a contractor therefore, your job is not guaranteed. Pay is determined by the contractor(Most of the time per stop/package. You have NO benefits. You'll work long hours unless you are given a concentrated area with average amount of stops(100) or vice versa larger area fewer stops. Trucks are beat down unless you work for a contractor that has a newer fleet. late dispatch in Homestead location. Good luck.

    Advice to Management

Improve your dispatch time with higher pay towards your employees that work odd timed shifts at a part time basis.
