I have been working at FedEx Ground full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible start time, get to work independently, optional overtime available each week

    Cons

Some trucks are old and without AC, working alone without much human interaction, working 60+ hrs a week during the holidays on same weekly salary, no benefits

I have been working at FedEx Ground full-time for more than a year

    Pros

No manager overseeing you, you're off when you finish today's work Outdoors Paid by the package, the more boxes you move, the more you're paid

    Cons

Very hot uniform, no exceptions Lifting heavy and frivolous objects up several flights of stairs while customer watches and records you on their doorbell and phone Rain and wet socks can ruin your day Camera on you at all times inside truck looking for phone while driving, rolling through stop signs, or anything you might damage by accident You can be replaced in a heartbeat to keep the machine running, quota and volume are priority. Trucks are barely holding together, knobs and gauges that don't work, key's that dont turn, lots of janky, faulty equipment Be prepared to have black hands 100% of the day with dirt. You cannot touch your face at all and every meal each day will be in your lap. Be prepared to work through hurricanes, pandemics, and immediate deaths in the family as if nothing is even happening. No benefits or insurance Longer you take on the job, the later you get off. If you value your body and going to the gym, that lifestyle will suffer when someone doesn't know their own address, nor how to answer their own phone You can work in this position for a lifetime and your job title and obituary will not change from the day you started.
