I have been working at European Central Bank full-time

    Pros

    - Being part of a important and valuable European institution; - Being exposed on a daily basis to challenging tasks contributing to monetary policy decisions; - Develop yourself as an economist and at the same time enhance data management and econometric skills.

    Cons

    - Low/Absent possibilities for stepping up in terms of career unless you hod a PhD; - As it is a large institution, it is more difficult to perceive that your work is appreciated; - In general, very poor management skills in line managers who are however excellent economists.
