Great people serving the community with incredible benefits!

      Pros

Incredible benefits package - some key components: *Immediate participation for most positions in the state PERS pension (defined benefit plans) *AND a 401(k) that offers a match *Personal time that starts off at the equivalent of four weeks and increases with years of service *Several medical plan options through a state benefits board program. Employer’s portion of our benefits makes them very affordable especially for large families when compared to other employers. Awesome teammates who care about each other and about providing clean energy solutions A sincere appreciation for diversity and efforts to grow diversity & inclusion Competitive salaries, with a short-term incentive plan, and numerous recognition programs An active Employee Association and several other ways to meet teammates and get involved Majority of positions are filled as internal promotions! Check out our openings & join our team!

      Cons

Please note that most positions require working on site in Richland, WA However, approximately 1/3 of positions are eligible for a hybrid schedule with some days of remote work

The worst years of my life

16 Dec 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Richland, WA

      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent benefits. Part of the public employees' retirement system (a state-backed pension program) if you can stomach at least five years of employment there.

      Cons

A hostile and combative work environment. Carries a distinct lack of diversity as a badge of honor, going as far as to snuff out true efforts to bring ethnic and cultural diversity into the company. Human Resources and Employee Concerns turn their backs on retaliation for protected activities, and good managers are prevented from taking actions that protect their employees. Executives drive decision-making that does not support nuclear safety, and it's appalling that they are in negotiations to operate new nuclear technology.

      Don't recommend

8 Dec 2022 - Electrical Engineer in Richland, WA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Benefits; pension (to try and keep you on)

      Cons

Horrible work/life balance. Not worth the pay. You have to be on a ERO duty cycle (on call 25% of your life), bonuses only go to upper management, no mentorship for early career engineers. Lot's of empty promises about change with no action. No sense of team in this organization. Innovation is an example of a word they through around and don't know what it means. Turn over is crazy and I can see why
