Pros

-While we're focused on the customer, most leaders know there is a human side to the business as well. A focus on the people is one of Werner's core values. -Competitive medical, vision & dental plans -Very good PTO plan - every employee starts with a minimum of 3 weeks + holidays -Paid parental leave plan for new moms & dads -Adoption reimbursement -Tuition reimbursement-undergrad & grad programs -Paid sabbatical leave for those with 20 years of experience with the company -Support for professional development through in-house or external training -Open door environment where feedback and new ideas are encouraged. There are also multiple avenues to provide feedback, even anonymously of employees prefer it. -Flexible work environment, making a healthy work/life balance

Cons

-There is constant change. This is no different than any other growing company. Change is good, but the company could improve in thinking through change and ensuring that communication is a critical piece to any change management process. Everyone reacts to change differently, so thinking through the various reactions is important.

Pros

People: There is definitely a family atmosphere. Everyone is not just friendly, but genuine. Unlike working for large corporations, people tend to come and stay for awhile at Werner, so you can develop some lasting relationships. Work/life balance: Our DC is not open on the weekends, which is nice. We also get 3 weeks starting PTO and 2 floating holidays. Growing company: There are always opportunities to take on new roles within Werner because of the growth. Another nice benefit of a growing company is that there is room to add your own "flavor" to how you think things can be run. Unlike working for a large corporation, there is not a HQ building that dictates 100% on every detail of how to run your business. This is what makes my work fun in that we can help create and set the structure for the next phase of our growing company. Recognition: Leaders give a lot of recognition, from simple thank you's, to gift cards, or even team outings.

Cons

Sales and Ops Planning: It can be difficult at times to try and get sales to keep ops in the loop on initiatives/products/services they are planning to drive. We are trying to push sales to give us info rather than find out at the last minute.
