layoff is an issue, they have been laying off people on average once in 3-4 years, senior employees are very much scared of this and are not supportive of knowledge transfer. they look new hire as immediate threat to their position. management whitewash this resentment and are not making efforts to keep the interests of both. lack of talent pool in india(you wont find even one subject matter expert/tech fellows), low on knowledge addition no ownership of products, everthing happens in wichita, only low tech/supporting works are exported to india. management doesnt want to empower employees, they keep the competency level as low as possible. employee learning or training programs are not much encouraged and are failed to realize the benefits of the same. employee benefits are outdated and are not competitive enough to retain/bring talents. lack of well structured training plans for new hires.
