Valuable entry-level training, but toxic culture and low pay - Account Manager Simpli.fi Employee Review

Pros

Strong entry-level experience and training opportunities. Good place to build foundational skills for 1–2 years before moving on. Solid health care options

Cons

Compensation is significantly below market value. Extremely political culture where social dynamics often outweigh performance. Do not trust management. Leadership is resistant to feedback, change, or process improvement; employees raising concerns may be labeled “difficult.” Initiative is rarely rewarded — employees who suggest improvements are often expected to implement them independently without recognition or additional compensation. High performers are frequently overburdened rather than rewarded. Layoffs and restructuring have had minimal impact on management despite ongoing leadership issues. Employees who challenge upper management or provide pushback can face retaliation. Culture encourages keeping your head down, avoiding conflict, and doing the minimum required. 2 layoffs post-COVID followed by what appeared to be highly subjective performance-based terminations.

Pros

The only positive was my coworkers

Cons

Where do I begin?! If you’re in CS, pay and career growth are basically nonexistent. Over the past five years, the company has declined significantly. Promotions are reviewed once a year which would be reasonable if they actually happened but in the last three years, very few people have been promoted. Most CS employees receive at best a 3% raise, which leadership claims accounts for inflation and cost of living. That’s hard to take seriously when some employees have remained in the same role for 3–4 years, earning near minimum wage, while leadership and other departments are compensated much more fairly. Workloads are constantly increasing, with more and more responsibilities piled onto the same teams. Morale is extremely low, and burnout is common. Many employees are unhappy, and raising concerns often leads to being ignored or worse, facing retaliation. They also try to add "incentives" to help the morale. This included pizza days and extra food. People do not want Pizza Hut they want more money, that they rightfully deserve. They fire/lay off tenured employees for no reason. Probably for the fact they make too much money. They also do not give severance for those employees. Not to mention Simpli.fi is in the stone ages compared to other DSPs, the platform looks like it was created in 2005. Overall would not recommend working at Simpli.fi unless you're desperate for a job,
