You will find out why the accounting department has so much turnover. They don't train but the expectation is that you should know everything. We had tight hard deadlines but other departments were free to give us late information. The amount of work to be done versus the pay doesn't add up and you get the feeling that everyone else is coasting except the accounting department, especially on Fridays where everyone leaves early except you. Be prepared to be in meetings about meetings, even during periods where you have much work to do which means you get to stay late. The dept didn't have enough staff and the company isn't willing to accept it. You get pressured by VPs to get things done at certain dates, seemingly for arbitrary reasons and it appears that many don't understand what it takes to meet said deadlines, they'll procrastinate on some issue for months and expect you to clean it up a week before it's due.
