Great Family Company - Corporate Administrator Shearon Environmental Design Employee Review

The staff at Shearon has been open and transparent ever since the day I started. They are helpful and really care for their employees. It's a safe work environment, and non-toxic. The owner recently handed the company to his two sons. Both who which have great ideas for the future of the company.

Some of the methods are little outdated. Communication can be slow at times. The four branches sometime operate as silos rather than one company.

You work with real people everyday. You have a genuine relationship with the owners and VPs. The family aspect is real, but it is still a professional environment.

Since the company was founded only 50 years ago by the same owner, the concept of doing everything all at once is very prevalent. Concrete job descriptions for office staff don't really exist especially the corporate admin role. It's a catch all for anything people can't do or want to do. Also there isn't any mobility for office staff. And some positions, like the corporate admin, are one person departments with little help or collaboration.
