Pros

Select is a fun dynamic environment in which to work. Its a good team culture. There are some incredibly talented designers doing amazing brand design work, and some good account people leading the charge for individual clients. In addition, there is a hard working crew of production professionals cranking out a large volume of branded products as well as installations/displays/videos/etc. Everyone shares a work hard/play hard attitude. There's a decent work-life balance if you are coming from outside Vermont and don't have an unrealistic attitude about what it takes to do real work. But if you expect to slouch in at 10 am and leave early to go for a trail ride, then you should work somewhere else.

Cons

The individual jobs within Select are quite varied, allowing room for lateral movement. However, there is not as much clarity when it comes to the ability to advance along the career path. If you like what you do and want to stay in the same job while building new skills, then its a decent place to work. If you want to see yourself progressing up a chain , its a trickier proposition. There's just not much room to go up/grow up.

Pros

Great office space, and creative co-workers.

Cons

No job descriptions, defined roles, assigned tasks, or mentoring. No clear expectations, no accountability, and no leadership. If you're comfortable picking up the phone and cold calling with no clear direction on what you're selling, you might be ok. That, or if you played elite Hockey, and the owners strike a fancy towards you. Otherwise, you'd be better off at UPS.
