Worst company I’ve ever worked for - Anonymous employee Pacific Propeller Employee Review

Pros

New people who come in are the highlight, because they believe in the change leadership only pays lip service to. But not many, if any, stick around once they see the entropy in action and realize their efforts are futile in the face of all the roadblocks. Inquire about the turn over rate, it will be illuminating.

Cons

Flat reorg of the company weakened the superstructure ensuring no one is caring for the details and everyone is overloaded to the breaking point. Streamlining was just an excuse for ownership to save money. Communication between teams or from exec leadership is poor to nonexistent. If you’re not part of the good ol boy network, forget having a voice. Benefits are passable, barely. Expect to pay through the nose for weak coverage. Facilities look like they haven’t had an upgrade since the 80’s making for a depressing and shoddy work environment. Thousands were spent on a propeller sculpture for the exterior because the facade is all this company cares about. The only people who don’t see the massive problems here are those not paying attention, or who have become so good at lying to everyone, they’ve started to believe it themselves.

Pros

- The work is very engaging. - Pay is decent (could be much better). - tooling purchases are typically approved with little issue.

Cons

- uninformed / underqualified management team - no real engagement from upper management. - recurring legal battle for any momentum in union contract terms every 4 years - profit sharing has been reworked multiple times to move the bar away from granting returns to employees. - impressive profits, but much of it is funneled to the sister company / not reinvested properly in equipment. - old facility that does not have headroom for power / air. - not climate-controlled despite having work that is required to be done in a climate controlled environment. - generally outdated ways of thinking, both in the business administration and personnel management.
