Pros

The Nonacus team are close knit and wonderful to work with. Given the fats paced working environment and the nature of a small business that is rapidly growing, every person works collaboratively and has defined ownership of a specific workload. I enjoy the transparency that comes with such definitive ownership and the exciting nature of developing business. The company has a meaningful sense of mission which makes my role feel purposeful and impactful.

Cons

Sometimes the management of workloads is imbalanced, which granted does come with a growing business. Initially when I joined the business, the recognition for employees when situations such as this arose, was limited. However, there have recently been improvements. The company are constantly realigning to ensure the business focus is correct, which is refreshing however does bring about certain challenges as employees need to be rapidly adaptable.

Pros

Interesting work with real clinical impact. The team is friendly and supportive, and you get good exposure to sequencing technologies and clinical validation projects. Because the team is small, you can take ownership of projects and contribute ideas.

Cons

As the company is growing, some processes and documentation are still developing. Priorities can sometimes change quickly and communication between teams could be clearer.

Pros

Working on a meaningful mission to bring early cancer detection to everyone on the planet, with leadership consistently bringing the focus back to how we're working towards that goal. Teams work well together and are made up of smart, collaborative people who genuinely care about innovation and patients. The company is growing fast and creates lots of opportunities, with numerous people that have been at Nonacus for 4+ years as they've progressed into more senior positions, which is a great signal for building a long-term career.

Cons

Leadership are completely transparent with wins and challenges, and how they affect the company's financial position, with that level of sharing being quite unusual, though at the same time it's empowering as we all know what we need to do to fulfil our mission and can see how our contribution gets us closer to our goals. It can also be messy as the company scales, with processes sometimes catching up and decisions made without perfect information, though fundamentally everyone wants to do the right thing for clinicians and patients.
