The reputation of the organization is strong with patient-centered clinical expertise and a strong emphasis on professional development. It is recognized for high standards in patient care and social responsibility and the focus on safety is present in every meeting. It is a great place to work for people who feel called to serve others as part of caregiving teams.

As any healthcare organization, Medstar is challenged by the complexity and volatility of the healthcare system and highly regulatory environments. This, along with other challenges inherent to healthcare professionals make the organization vulnerable to the drawbacks of working in the industry. Having said that, the leaders I have met seem very focused on addressing systemic issues and are very aligned with SPIRIT values.
