Pros

Layman Distributing is a good place to work with a strong team-first culture. Leadership is approachable, expectations are clear, and people take pride in supporting customers. The work is fast-paced and hands-on, which makes the days go by quickly. If you’re willing to work hard and take ownership, there’s room to grow. Supportive, family-oriented culture Approachable leadership Stable company with clear expectations Opportunities to learn and advance

Cons

Performance and accountability standards are not always enforced consistently Attendance and reliability issues are tolerated longer than they should be High performers may feel frustrated when underperformance isn’t addressed promptly Retention of employees who are not aligned with company expectations/policies

Pros

PTO, insurance, and 401k available. But you are hated for taking PTO. Insurance is too expensive and no one can afford it and if you do get it then it sucks for copayments at doctors and for prescriptions. Management doesnt really match 401k so only personal contributions added if anything at all because management forgets. Some coworkers are nice and warehouse workers are all great and friendly. Warehouse is at convenient location and has restaurants nearby. Paid weekly. Meet new people and sociable delivery truck drivers.

Cons

Pay is bad and no promotions or bonuses or raises even if youre working here for a long time. Management is cheap and doesnt care about problems and blames employees who arent responsible for at all because management didnt pay attention to concerns raised and ignored problems completely, failing employees in all ways and cutting corners to save money because top leadership doesnt care about employees like no direct deposit so we have to cash checks per week. No holidays. This year we finally get off on Christmas Eve but still work on new years and other federal holidays that usually all companies give off. Scheduled same times everyday even if no work. No flexibility in schedules. Given work thats not mine because other people dont want to do it and management likes them more and ignores this. Toxic work environment that is stressful for no good reason. Also some coworkers are convicted pedophiles and felons stealing money and sexually harass women especially the spanish-speaking warehouse workers so some employees dont like working with other people who are unprofessional/dangerous (employees and women know who not to talk to) and management knows who but does nothing. Someone was reported to HR for sexually harassing women a lot and they are hired back in a different job title because owner doesnt care and is unresponsive to problems effecting employees. Not sure if that is legal but legal department is not a lawyer so no one knows really. Sometimes employees are scared to speak up because management favors some people more so employees dont want to be retaliated against and morale is extremely low because employees try there best but never recognized so its upsetting they go unnoticed.
