Pros

1) I worked in the in-house legal department. Most people were fantastic and personable and I made several solid long-lasting friendships. 2) Another "pro" is the dedicated and effective volunteer team and opportunity to volunteer for numerous deserving causes. 3) Nice cafe in the building, interesting art installments, and "master classes" (basically in-person interviews with impactful individuals that anyone could sign up to attend.)

Cons

1) Terrible salary and ridiculously low raises- I more than doubled my salary when I accepted a new position- plus I'm paid for any overtime hours I work. 2) No opportunity for advancement or learning opportunities. 3) Petty and controlling criticism for offenses such as arriving less than 5 minutes late- literally- 2 or 3 minutes. This is regardless of how much "uncompensated overtime" you worked. To add insult to injury- this policy applied only to certain people. 4) Unabashed politics and nepotism- it's clearly all about "who you know" not "what you know".

Pros

I love working at Hearst in the Baltimore, Maryland market. I have worked for many radio stations over the past nearly 40 years and this is one of the best companies as far as working environment. I really feel cared for here.

Cons

On a personal level, I've had a hard time getting full time employment within the company, which is discouraging. Also, it takes forever for management to make hiring decisions.
