Pros

Benefits are good, lots of paid holidays.

Cons

Leadership is arrogant. Conservatives and will push their personal preferences on employees. They will use any and everything against you. Leadership will also back racist employees, the term Puerto Rican math has been used when the numbers were not done right. HR is aware of this, their take is that the employee is morally wrong however not doing anything illegal. Very judgmental environment.

Pros

Everyone working at ECMHSP loves their work, and it is truly the premier Head Start organization in the US in many ways. My team (Technology Solutions Department) was excellent, despite being severely understaffed. Overall the company does an excellent job hiring people from diverse backgrounds and promoting from within. The C-suite has adopted a robust data-driven approach to projects that is effective and produces positive results in the field of early childhood education.

Cons

Salaries for personnel below the C-suite or department director level are mediocre at best. Leave policies, especially for bereavement or paternal leave, are poor or nonexistent. I received a 'promotion,' that is a change in my job title, that included a raise of a paltry amount- only about 300 dollars a year. There is also quite a bit of hypocrisy when it comes to remote work- directors and C-suite members can work from where ever, whenever, while all other employees are required to be in-office 5 days a week, despite the fact that many staff could perform most or all of their work remotely. Finally, an IT department of 4-5 people for a company of 1000+ employees is woefully insufficient. Management clings to antiquated ideas and perspectives about technology that have resulted in lots of recent employee turnover within the IT department (Technology Solutions) and overall frustration with the organization's inability to address pressing technology problems experienced by site staff.
