The lab manager at this company is amazing and very supportive in your work and trains you very well. I became competent in many new techniques under his training and everyone else that worked there was friendly. The company was made better by the lab manager and having other very nice colleagues, in addition to the work being interesting. Brough isn't a bad location either and has some cute shops nearby in the village and not much traffic.

In my first week of this role, I was told by my manager to be careful how long you spend going to the toilet as the CEO's office was next door and he will be timing you to see if you're taking a long time. I once saw the CEO make someone in admin cry and he was always checking up on you suspiciously and he was not trusting of his employees at all - which was especially annoying when you know in yourself that you work hard and are honest. This company has an extremely quick turn-over and I'm am not surprised by that at all. The CEO was not flexible - I once asked to leave 10 minutes early to catch a train to London on a Friday and he let me go but acted as if it was this HUGE favour he had done. Only go to the company if you are pretty desperate for a job in the industry as I saw several occasions where staff were treated badly by him. Personally, I cannot work in a place I don't feel valued enough or trusted.
