Pros

Eduscape has been around for 10+ years and has never had a negative posting until two seemingly bitter former employees, one who we suspect was asked to leave, who were difficult to work with decided to unleash unmerited derogatory information about the Company. I've been employed by Eduscape for several years and have experienced the following: employees being treated like equal owners, receiving flowers and/or gift cards on their birthdays, getting a bottle of wine and restaurant gift card after a long stretch of travel or end of a project, the owner going out of his way to check in when a child or spouse(my) is ill. Hear a dog barking in the background? That's because they are dog friendly and it's fairly casual albeit intense with deadlines at times. There are p/t educators who have worked with the company for over 10 years and still enjoy the people and work, and are treated like their part of the family. Workwise, they try to stay on top of Edtech and the leadership always seems to be obsessed with making sure that innovation is meaningful. The Company has some really great partners in companies and nonprofits who contract them to run their training. I've been treated with respect and always offered new challenges. The Company's various partnerships allow for good diversity of work, it's rarely boring.....

Cons

Not seeing remote co-workers as often There are real busy stretches during certain times of the year that you have to make sure your prepared for.... (extra coffee!) Would like to attend more conferences as a learner instead of presenter

Pros

The only good reason to work at this company are the coworkers. As other reviews have stated, most of your coworkers will be intelligent, kind, and hardworking.

Cons

High turnover Poor Management No upward feedback Management will creative narratives about you, which will become their reality and perception of you despite evidence to the contrary Management will gossip about you to others on the team constantly There is no accountability for any of the partners Management will consistently make gross errors but nitpick any small mistake made by employees Everything is an emergency - there is never any planning ahead The on site team is constantly stressed. Remote members can regularly expect "urgent" notifications between 2-4am Management has questionable ethics

Pros

They tend to hire smart teachers, so your coworkers are usually great colleagues. The work can be rewarding when the teachers appreciate what you do for them.

Cons

This is a place of distrust and manipulation. The owners pit workers against one another by telling them different versions of the story, both of which are lies. The turnover rate here is over 200%. There is no room for advancement or promotion. There is no hierarchy. All decisions are made at the last minute and change frequently. Then, you will be told that the deadline is super critical and must be accomplished right away even if it means you stay up to work past midnight and you have a presentation to make the next morning. You will run yourself ragged trying to do it all only to find out that the "super amazing opportunity" comes to nothing. Wasted effort. Time tracking policies are draconian. PTO is discouraged and there is no flexibility, despite what the owners tell you. Need to leave early to go to a doctor's appointment? Too bad. You need to take half a day of PTO. And it can only be in the afternoon. You will be traveling much more than anticipated - up to 3 times a week on a plane and on weekends without compensation for overtime. Expense allowances are extremely cheap and you will lose money when you have to eat in a city without cheap food. You will be told to drive 5 hours to a workshop and you will be told you cannot leave until 3pm. You will be told when you can drive where. The mileage reimbursement is low - well behind the IRS rate. It doesn't matter that your plane was delayed 4 hours and you got home at midnight after starting at 5am that day. You are required to come into the office at 9am. Don't expect to be able to work from home either. Bad weather? Too bad. Need to wait for the plumber? Too bad. You will be expected to create eLearning, manage online courses, and run in-person trainings all at the same time. You will be burned out and when you ask for help, you will be told that you have to work harder because everyone else is, which is a lie. I know you are thinking that this is a way to get out of teaching. Trust me , it's not. Find a secretary job instead. You'll be better off.
