Pros
- Great engineering culture: thoughtful decision-making, room to grow + internal promotions, engineers feels like they're on the same team, leadership actually cares about what engineers think.
- Compelling technology: robots flying in the sky and walking around is really cool
- Competitive compensation package: recruiters usually cannot match my base
Cons
- Leadership is sometimes a bit overly optimistic/ambitious when setting goals. Fortunately, there is NOT a culture of engineers working overtime on nights + weekends to make up for this; they just change scope or resources or deadlines.
- Engineering feels understaffed. This may be a symptom of the above ambition. But I think it's also because the company has a lot of technical surface area. Every 4 weeks when it's my turn to be the support on-call engineer, it's a full-time job.
